Every month General Assembly NYC hosts an event series which highlights female leaders. This time around, the event showcased "Women in Music." Panelists included local experts across different sectors within the industry.
(left to right) Representing Sofar Sounds was Stephanie Mitchell, City Director of NYC Partnerships & Operations and Assistant Director of Artist booking Grace Pozinak. Entertainment Publicist Nasha Clark and Entertainment Lawyer/Founder of the Talley Law Group Desiree Talley rounded out the Women in Music panel.
The live conversation was moderated by Music Journalist and Blogger Allison Hazel, commonly known as Ally The Journalist. Topics ranged from the #MeToo movement to emerging trends that are shaping the music world. The panelists also shared a bit of their career journey such as the challenges and turning points.
The Women in Music panel agreed across the board that there isn’t a “direct path” in the music industry. However, it’s imperative to identify your interests and talents. The evening closed out with a special performance presented by Sofar Sounds.
