Movers and shakers in hip hop formed a "VIP think tank" at this year's RapCon. Presented by music distribution company Symphonic, the first annual day-conference was filled with fireside chats, keynotes, and networking.
Taking place at Brooklyn's National Sawdust, the invite-only event focused on two key topics: De-Constructing Marketing Campaigns and Indie Vs. Major in the DIY Era. Speakers included Rob Caiaffa (SoundCloud), Dave Ponte (Audiomack), Melissa Tuan (TIDAL), Mikey Fresh (Genius), Carl Lamarre (Billboard), Michael Walbert (A3C), and other industry representatives. The conversation revolved around music industry trends and what's next to come. Experts also shared great advice for independent artists such as: how to keep fans engaged.
RapCon 2019 concluded with a live talk featuring Grammy-Award winning artist and activist Killer Mike. The daytime event shifted to a nighttime showcase titled "RapCon at Night". The buzzing lineup included Maxo Kream, Anik Khan, Sweet Savage, and more!
