Allison Hazel is a writer, blogger, and music journalist. Based in New York City, Allison got her start in the industry as a publicity intern for a major record label. And with a foundation in public relations, she transitioned to journalism.
Initially, Allison launched allythejournalist.com as a blog to bridge the gap between underground and mainstream music. She then cultivated an editorial platform–beloved by many music enthusiasts. Today, Allison is a content creator as well as a freelance writer for several publications.
Her published bylines include XXL, NME, Alternative Press, Billboard, and more. Allison holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from Delaware State University. She is also a member of Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN) and the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
